Public Health Minister Pradit Sintavanarong said yesterday that related agencies were discussing the plan to charge tourists a separate fee for entering the country - possibly Bt500 for a three- to 30-day stay and Bt30 for less than three days.



An extra digit for mobile phone numbers?

NBTC secretary-general Takorn Tantasit said on Thursday that converting mobile phone numbers from current 10 to 11 digits could be done by changing the current three-digit prefix to a four-digit prefix -- by inserting an additional three number after the initial 0. 


Let's have an extra day off

The Thai cabinet on Tuesday agreed to make Monday 30 December an additional holiday nationwide for all employees to encourage tourism during the New Year celebrations.
According to the decision, Thais can look forward to a five-day public holiday from 28 December 2013 to 1 January 2014.
